2014 – A Brave New Year

Every New Year holds great promise… this one perhaps more than most.

First, I want to share with you that my direct employment with Mednovus has ended. The relationship with the founders and principals of the company is as strong as ever, and I owe them a huge debt of gratitude for allowing me to do so much ‘extracurricular’ work to further MRI safety. I will continue to work with them on a consulting basis, indefinitely. Which is a great segue into my new venture…

I am pleased to announce that I will be providing consulting services direct to imaging providers, device and equipment manufacturers, or anyone who wishes to capitalize on my decade of experience in MRI / radiology safety. Whether it’s reviewing an existing facility layout for safety, providing an independent assessment of equipment siting / design, or providing root-cause analyses for equipment or operational breakdowns, I am pleased to be at your service.

Which brings me to the other element that promises to make 2014 a remarkable year. Beginning in July of 2014, new imaging safety requirements will be going into effect for all Joint Commission accredited hospitals. These standards will apply to MRI, but also the CT, and nuclear imaging. In collaboration with operational partners, I am pleased to offer mock-survey services, along with development assistance for policies and procedures for these new imaging requirements.

I am very much looking forward to working with you this year.

These requirements are definitely very interesting. Looking forward to seeing how these are molded and how they shape the industry moving forward.
